I know bread products can be toasted straight from the freezer. I know that they need to be toasted for longer than unfrozen bread products. I didn't know that the toaster can toast a thick crumpet until the outside looks and feels cooked but the inside is still frozen.
I even toasted them twice, because I was unsure of whether they were still frozen. I just thought they must be especially dense, as they weren't as spongy as normal, but when Doris bit into one, she said "it's not exactly frozen in the middle, but it IS cold and wet".
I had to put them under the grill for an extra 5 minutes.
This is only a little post. It was only a little disaster.
